Department Overview

NHP mission, statewide jurisdiction, authority, and the professional standard expected of every trooper.

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) is a statewide law enforcement agency. Troopers patrol the highways, freeways, and major roads of the ERLC map, enforce traffic law, work collisions, and respond to emergencies.

Mandatory
  • ·NHP is a statewide agency. You may patrol anywhere across the ERLC map.
  • ·Primary patrol areas are highways, freeways, and major roads. Troopers may respond to incidents outside highway areas when appropriate.
  • ·Treat every player the same: civilian, officer, staff member, or friend. No favoritism, no targeting.
  • ·Stay in character at all times while on duty.

Mission and responsibilities

  • ·Patrol highways, freeways, and major roads across the ERLC map.
  • ·Enforce traffic law: speeding, reckless driving, unsafe lane changes, failure to yield, impaired driving where the server models it.
  • ·Work traffic collisions: secure the scene, take statements, clear the road.
  • ·Assist stranded and disabled motorists.
  • ·Conduct traffic stops for observed violations.
  • ·Pursue fleeing vehicles when the criteria in the Vehicle Pursuits section are met.
  • ·Coordinate with other departments when an incident crosses into their area.

Statewide jurisdiction

  • ·NHP jurisdiction is statewide. You may patrol anywhere on the ERLC map.
  • ·Highways, freeways, and major roads are your primary patrol areas.
  • ·You may respond to incidents outside highway areas when appropriate.
  • ·Inside a city, the city police department leads city calls. Support them when asked; do not take over their scene.

Trooper expectations

  • ·Be on time, in uniform, and in the correct Discord voice channel for your shift.
  • ·Know the radio codes NSRP has approved. Do not invent codes the server does not use.
  • ·Drive realistically at all times. Your patrol car sets the standard.
  • ·File your reports before you end your shift.
  • ·Help newer troopers. Senior troopers and instructors are responsible for the people they train.

Chain of command

  • ·Announce your status and location on the radio so dispatch and other units know where you are.
  • ·Answer status checks immediately. An unanswered trooper triggers a welfare search.
  • ·On a multi-unit call, one trooper leads the scene and the others support.
  • ·Follow the chain of command. Disagreements with a supervisor are handled after the incident, not over the radio during it.

Conduct on and off duty

  • ·On duty: professional, calm, and in character. No meta-chat about real life in voice or game chat.
  • ·Off duty: you still represent NHP. Do not use your trooper account to harass players.
  • ·Do not use department equipment, vehicles, or radio channels while off duty.
  • ·Report misconduct you witness to a supervisor. Covering for another trooper is itself misconduct.

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask a supervisor before you do it.
